Often, DTE will not schedule a reading until the middle of the month. If you need a reading earlier, volunteer to read the meter for DTE. :>( The Buyer should call the DTE at least 3 days to provide information to obtain service. If the Buyer wants uninterrupted service (e.g. you don't want the furnace to shut off in the winter), then the Buyer, only, can call DTE to put the service in the Buyer's name, and DTE will automatically switch the utilities to the Buyer and perform a final reading and bill for mailing to the Seller. |
